The Unsexy Habit That Builds an Unstoppable Life
Why Boring Matters.
Dear Andre, (2 min read)
Imagine you text a girl: (now that takes courage, which we talked about last week)
You: “Let’s grab coffee tomorrow at 2 PM!”
Her: “Sounds great!”
You: “Awesome, see you then.”
Her (at 1:59 PM the next day): “Hey, sorry, something came up.”
Boom. Your entire week is ruined. You suddenly question every life decision. Is this how your clients feel when someone flakes? Is this how your friends feel when you cancel last minute?
Look, I hate to say this, but I need you to be boring.
Speaking of boring… I bet your car is always clean.
Your friends ask you: “how you do it?” It’s not sexy. But someone’s gotta do it. (and it shouldn’t be you) anyway, Baarns Detailing helps busy moms effortlessly enjoy a clean car. we offer:
Ceramic coatings
Interior detailing (Video in the P.S.)
Exterior detailing (Video in the P.S.)
Engine bay cleaning
Headlight restoration.
Monthly Detailing (and free air fresheners with any detail scheduled in march)
You ever notice how the most successful people are kinda... boring? They don’t ghost. They don’t flake. They don’t “see how they feel” before committing. They just do what they say they’ll do.
I need you to be that guy.
Not the "mystery man" who people can never pin down. Not the “maybe” guy who RSVPs yes and then disappears. I need you to be so predictable it’s actually impressive.
The Muscle of Perseverance
Why? Because faithfulness isn’t just about being a good person. It’s about building the muscle of perseverance.
Every time you show up when you say you will, every time you keep a commitment, every time you do the boring thing instead of chasing the new shiny thing. You’re reinforcing a core part of your identity:
I am someone who follows through.
And here’s the kicker. Perseverance leads to wisdom.
Wisdom
Wisdom isn’t just something old men in rocking chairs have. Wisdom is the ability to make hard choices before you’re forced to.
The people who win in life aren’t the ones who suddenly develop discipline overnight. They’re the ones who trained perseverance through small, boring choices—keeping their word, showing up on time, and finishing what they started.
If you can keep your word to a friend about getting coffee, you can keep your word to a business partner about a deal.
If you can show up to the gym when you don’t feel like it, you can show up for your family when they need you.
If you can commit to small things, you’ll be ready for the big things.
Wisdom is just pre-deciding the right thing so you don’t have to battle yourself later.
Be Boring (in this one area)
So, let’s play this out.
If you start being boring (aka faithful) people start trusting you.
When people trust you, opportunities start showing up.
When you stay consistent. You build perseverance.
When you have perseverance. You don’t panic when life gets hard.
And when you don’t panic? That’s wisdom.
This isn’t just about keeping plans. It’s about who you’re becoming.
I want you to feel hopeful about this. You are not stuck being a last-minute canceler, an excuse-maker, or an “I just forgot” guy. You can change. You can be the guy who people say, “If he said he’ll do it, he’ll do it.”
Here’s your challenge this week:
👉 If you commit to something, keep it.
👉 If you say “yes,” mean it.
👉 If you say “no,” own it.
That’s it. One week. No exceptions.
And if you do this consistently? You’ll be building the exact character trait that separates men who get lucky from men who get wise.
Well, that’s all for now.
Adios!
Daniel
